Shri Amarnath Yatra third batch departs Jammu for Kashmir valley

JAMMU, July 04, 2026 — The third batch of 4,812 Amarnath pilgrims, including 966 women, 244 sadhus, and 157 sadhvis, departed from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp early Saturday morning.
Traveling in two separate convoys under tight security, the pilgrims left between 3:00 AM and 3:30 AM to join the annual Amarnath pilgrimage in the Kashmir Himalayas. A total of 2,771 pilgrims headed toward the Pahalgam base camp, while 2,041 took the Baltal route.
This latest departure brings the total number of pilgrims who have left Jammu since July 2 to 13,499, following the official flag-off of the first batch by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Meanwhile, the annual 57-day yatra saw a strong start on Friday, with more than 12,000 pilgrims offering prayers at the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine on the opening day across both the Pahalgam and Baltal tracks.
