CDS Addresses Tri-Services Course: Emphasizes Emerging Tech and Multi-Domain Readiness for Future Conflicts
NEW DELHI AUGUST 03 ,2026— Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General N.S. Raja Subramani delivered the keynote address at the inaugural session of the Fourth Edition of the Tri-Services Future Warfare Course on August 3, 2026, at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi. Highlighting the rapidly evolving character of modern warfare, the CDS underscored the critical necessity of anticipating future security threats and developing flexible, cross-domain operational capabilities. He emphasized that tomorrow’s military readiness relies heavily on mastering non-traditional battlefields and maintaining adaptive strategic foresight across all branches of the armed forces.
During his address, General Subramani focused on the profound impact of cutting-edge innovations—specifically artificial intelligence, cyber capabilities, autonomous systems, space technologies, information warfare, and data-driven decision-making—in defining future conflict arenas. To ensure robust national defence preparedness, he advocated for heightened jointness and seamless integration among the three Services, alongside stronger collaborative ties with industry, academia, and research institutions. Organised by the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS), the four-week intensive course convenes officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, together with key stakeholders from government and strategic sectors, to deliberate on geopolitics, cognitive warfare, multi-domain operations, and technology-enabled defense strategies.
