Jammu 18 December :- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a comprehensive Union Territory-level security conference in Jammu today, emphasizing a “whole-of-government” approach to dismantle the terror ecosystem.
Following the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the conference focused on the theme “Viksit Bharat: Security Dimensions.” The Lieutenant Governor directed security forces to shift from reactive to proactive strategies, specifically calling for the use of advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to combat modern threats, including terror financing, radicalization, and narco-terrorism.
He underscored that while the collaborative efforts of the J&K Police, Army, and CAPFs have led to a significant decline in recruitment and violence over the last six years, the security grid must remain vigilant to defend the gains made since 2019.
During the session, the Lieutenant Governor issued a stern warning that armed terrorists, Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and ideological enablers must be treated with equal severity. He stressed that every individual threatening the safety of common citizens—whether operating in the valleys, forests, or hills—must be neutralized to ensure they “pay a very heavy price” for their actions.
By focusing on eradicating safe havens and the broader support network, the conference aimed to build a next-level security grid capable of handling evolving 21st-century challenges. The high-level meeting was attended by top officials from the police, intelligence agencies, and civil administration, all committed to a unified front against terrorism in all its forms.
