Srinagar RTO Inspection: Minister Satish Sharma Mandates Transparent, Tech-Driven Public Services

SRINAGAR 17 December :- Reinforcing the government’s commitment to “citizen-first” governance, Minister for Transport, Satish Sharma, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) Srinagar on Wednesday.

The visit was aimed at auditing operational efficiency and ensuring that essential transport services, such as vehicle registration and driving license issuance, are delivered without bureaucratic delays.

During his tour, the Minister engaged directly with staff and local citizens to identify bottlenecks in the current system, emphasizing that transparency and accountability must remain the cornerstones of the department’s functioning.

Minister Sharma issued a clear mandate to the RTO officials to prioritize the strengthening of digital infrastructure. He noted that a robust IT framework is essential to minimize human intervention, reduce processing times, and eliminate public grievances. “Our goal is a hassle-free environment where every citizen is treated with courtesy and every application is processed within a strict timeline,” the Minister stated.

Accompanied by RTO Kashmir Qazi Irfan and other senior officers, Sharma directed the department to adopt a proactive approach in resolving pending issues, ensuring that the Transport Department becomes a model for efficient public service delivery in Jammu and Kashmir.
