Swift Action by Jammu (Rural) Police,Dacoity Case Solved in Akhnoor, Laptop Recovered, Five Arrested

Akhnoor, 28 September :- Jammu (Rural) Police achieved a major breakthrough by solving a recent dacoity case in Akhnoor and arresting five accused persons.On 17.09.2025 at about 2300 hrs, one Pervaiz Ahmed S/o Fareed Ahmed R/o Thanole, District Reasi, appeared at Police Station Akhnoor and lodged a written complaint against unknown assailants.

Acting swiftly, FIR No.173/2025 U/S 126(2)/310(2)/115(2)/191(2)/190 BNS was registered, and investigation was set into motion.In his statement, the complainant, employed as a driver of a Tata Mobile load carrier, stated that while driving from Jammu towards Reasi and reaching near Maira Mandrian, Akhnoor, an auto e-rickshaw suddenly intercepted his vehicle.

Five men alighted, brutally assaulted him, caused injuries, and vandalized his vehicle by breaking the windshield, side glasses, and rear-view mirror. They further committed dacoity, forcibly snatching a laptop and ₹53,000 cash before fleeing. During the incident, one accused, Vishal Singh, also sustained injuries.Upon receiving the complaint, the Investigating Officer (IO) rushed to the spot, conducted an on-the-spot inspection, and collected vital clues.

Acting on these leads, two accused were apprehended within a day, while the remaining were later arrested. The snatched laptop was recovered, and the auto e-rickshaw used in the crime was seized in the presence of independent witnesses.

Initial investigation reveals that the accused had assembled in a forested area with prior conspiracy and intention to commit the offence, confirming it was a premeditated act.All accused are presently under police remand for sustained questioning, and further investigation is in progress.
