Jammu, Sept 27: Jammu and Kashmir Police emphasised today that community partnership and vigilance are essential to maintain national and internal security, particularly in managing illegal activities by foreign nationals.
In a proactive initiative to track and prevent illegal activities by foreign nationals, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Arun Gupta, convened a meeting with hoteliers, PG facility owners, and other lodging service providers at the District Police Office, Ramban.
The meeting aimed to create awareness among accommodation providers regarding the mandatory filing of Form-C or Form-S for every foreign national, in strict compliance with the Foreigners Act, 1946.
Key guidelines discussed included mandatory online filing of Form-C within 24 hours of accommodating any foreign national, applicable to hotels, lodges, home stays, hospitals, hostels, universities, and private residences. Non-compliance can result in imprisonment of up to five years and a monetary fine under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946.
