Minister Javed Ahmed Rana sets strict deadlines for Kashmir water infrastructure projects
SRINAGAR, JUNE 14 — Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs Javed Ahmed Rana chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Srinagar today to assess the progress of ongoing works and the overall functioning of the Jal Shakti department across the Kashmir Division.
Senior officials, including the Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti and Irrigation and Flood Control for Kashmir, alongside Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers, briefed the Minister on the status of water supply schemes, irrigation infrastructure, and overall departmental performance.
During the meeting, the Minister issued strict directives to the officers to ensure the timely completion of all projects, enhance ground-level service delivery, and maintain rigorous monitoring of field activities. He stressed the importance of efficient scheme implementation, prompt redressal of public grievances, and the optimum utilization of available resources to avoid unnecessary delays.
The Minister emphasized that the timely delivery of services to citizens is completely non-negotiable, instructing officers to remain actively engaged in the field and work in close coordination for effective execution.
He reiterated that the government led by Omar Abdullah is fully committed to the welfare of every citizen, and added that this commitment must clearly reflect in the quality of services and the swift execution of developmental schemes reaching the grassroots level.
