Katra (VD) 22 September :- Amidst multi-tier security arrangements, the nine-day festival of Shardiya Navratri has commenced at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi District with great religious fervor and celebration.

With over 40,000 pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine daily to pay their obeisance, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has eased the process by opening new registration counters at the Katra Railway Station to manage the expected influx of devotees. For the auspicious occasion, the shrine in Katra has been decorated with indigenous and imported flowers.

In a separate alert, the SMVDSB has also warned devotees to be cautious of online scams, clarifying that the Board does not sell offerings like Chunri Chadava or Chola on Instagram or other social media pages and advising pilgrims not to fall prey to fake claims.
