Ramban Police Reunites Woman with Intellectual Disability with Her Family Through Look Out Notice
Ramban, 18 September :- In a testament to the continued commitment of the Jammu & Kashmir Police toward public safety and prompt action in missing person cases, the Ramban Police successfully reunited a woman with intellectual disabilities with her family, through a Look Out Notice.
An information was received at Police Post Rajgarh, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramban, regarding an unknown woman found wandering alone in the Rajgarh market area.
Acting swiftly, a police team led by the In-Charge, Police Post Rajgarh, reached the location and interacted with the woman in an attempt to ascertain her identity.
During questioning, the woman identified herself variously as Shamima or Khalida, aged approximately 28–30 years, wife of Manzoor, daughter of Mohammad Yousuf, and resident of places such as Rajouri, Uri, Kokernag, or even Nepal.
However, the inconsistent and contradictory information raised concerns about the accuracy of her statements and her actual place of residence.For her safety and proper care, she was placed at the One Stop Centre, Ramban, while further inquiries were initiated.On the directions of SSP Ramban, a Look Out Notice was issued. Subsequently, the family members of the woman, who are residents of Kangan, District Ganderbal in Kashmir, saw the notice and promptly reached Police Station Ramban.
The Ramban Police successfully reunited the woman with her family, who expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Jammu & Kashmir Police—particularly the Ramban Police for their prompt and compassionate action.
