Jammu September 15:Famous YouTuber and founder of Rebel Foundation Shraddhanand Pati condemned the language used by Doda MLA Mehraj Malik towards the Deputy Commissioner and said that what Mehraj said was absolutely wrong but this matter cannot be the basis of Public Safety Act.
After reaching Jammu on Monday, while talking to journalists about Malik’s arrest, he said that the words used by Malik were wrong but this matter was between two people holding government posts. One is representing the assembly and the other is suitable on behalf of the government.
Public Safety Act was imposed on Malik regarding this matter but it should also be seen that on which issues he was raising his voice. The issue of dispensary or hospital is related to the interest of the people. He was putting forth his point by citing the problems of the people.
In the press conference, Rebel was accompanied by Mehraj Malik’s father, senior Aam Aadmi Party leaders Amit Kapoor and Gurmeet Singh Bagi, as well as other members. He said that the purpose of his visit to Jammu was not only to support Mehraj Malik. He has come to support those youths who want to raise their voice.
He said that the language used by Malik is reprehensible but the reasons behind using that language should also be seen. He had been raising this issue for a long time but his voice was not heard. PSA is imposed when a person is becoming a threat to the society, whereas Malik was raising the voice of the people.
A defamation case could have been filed for the abusive language he used, but the Public Safety Act was not right at all. This issue should be resolved as soon as possible. If it is a matter of apology, then his father will himself apologize to DC sahab. If Public Safety Act starts being applied on abusive language, then hundreds of leaders will be in jail. I am repeating again that Malik’s language was wrong but his fighting for people’s issues was justified. A fight between two people can never be a public safety act.
