Weather Update J&K: Generally Fair Conditions Expected Till September 23rd

Srinagar 15 September :- The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has forecast a period of largely stable weather for Jammu and Kashmir until the end of next week. According to the detailed outlook for September 15th to 23rd, residents can expect generally fair conditions interspersed with brief, isolated rain spells.

From the 15th to the 17th of September, the region will see generally fair weather with brief periods of light rain and intense showers at a few locations. A more noticeable wet spell is anticipated from the 18th to the 19th, with light rain and thunder expected at scattered places, and the possibility of brief moderate showers in a few areas towards the late night of the 18th and early morning of the 19th.

The weather is then set to clear up, with generally dry conditions predicted from the 20th through to the 23rd of September. The MET centre has stated that overall, no significant weather activity is anticipated during this period.

Alongside the forecast, the centre has issued an advisory, warning of the possibility of landslides and shooting stones at a few vulnerable places during the rain spells. Furthermore, farmers have been advised to continue with the harvesting of paddy and other essential farm operations, taking advantage of the predominantly dry weather window.
