Traffic Advisory: NH-44 Partially Restored, Commuters Urged to Avoid Against-Travel

Jammu 15 September :- Traffic is moving normally on the SSG and Sinthan roads as per the official advisory. On the Mughal Road, traffic is also plying as advised; however, commuters should expect slow movement on the stretch between Herpora and Pir Ki Gali due to heavy congestion caused by fruit-laden heavy motor vehicles. The National Highway-44 (NH-44) has not yet been fully restored at the Tharad section. While down traffic from Srinagar towards Jammu is currently operational, authorities have issued a strict advisory urging commuters not to travel against the official guidance on this route.

All drivers are strongly advised to maintain lane discipline and avoid overtaking, as such actions are causing significant congestion. The public is requested to disregard rumors and instead check the real-time status of roads through the Traffic Police’s official Twitter handle @Traffic_hqrs, their Facebook page, or by contacting the Traffic Control Units in Jammu, Srinagar, or Ramban.
