Awantipora 14 September :-Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police has arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances.
Police Station Awantipora received reliable information regarding presence of contraband in a residential house at Padgampora.
Accordingly, a police party of PS Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora raided the said house. During search, 50 Kg and 200 grams of cannabis powder(Bung)was recovered from the house of Showkat Ahmad WaniS/o Late Abdul Gani Wani R/o Padgampora Awantipora . Accordingly the said drug peddler has been arrested and shifted to PS Awantipora where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 193/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora & investigations has been initiated.

People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
