AKHNOOR, 03 Aug 2026 — Reaffirming its strong commitment to community development and youth empowerment, the Indian Army has initiated a month-long plumbing skill development programme for the local youth of Rajwal village under the aegis of Operation Sadbhavana. Designed to bridge the local vocational skill gap, the civic outreach program equips participants with market-relevant technical training to boost employability and foster sustainable livelihood opportunities within construction and allied sectors.

Combining interactive classroom instruction with hands-on practical exercises led by experienced instructors, the curriculum exposes ten selected candidates to modern plumbing techniques, water supply system installation and maintenance, tool handling, safety standards, and advanced troubleshooting methods. Upon completion, this targeted intervention will enable the trainees to pursue formal employment or self-employment ventures, underscoring the Indian Army’s dedicated efforts toward inclusive growth and long-term socio-economic progress in the border region.
