Shravan Mahotsav 2026 Begins at Shri Shiv Khori Shrine with Devotional Kavad Yatra

REASI, AUGUST 03: The auspicious month of Shravan commenced with immense religious fervor as Deputy Commissioner Reasi and Vice Chairman of the Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board (SSKSB), Kumar Abhishek, officially inaugurated Shravan Mahotsav-2026 today, marking the first Monday of the holy period. The festivities kicked off with a vibrant traditional Kavad Yatra from Darshani Deori to the sacred cave shrine, where a massive turnout of enthusiastic devotees carried holy water while chanting devotional hymns in praise of Lord Shiva. The spiritual procession culminated at the shrine with special prayers, a traditional Hawan, and rituals conducted for universal peace, prosperity, and well-being.

To ensure a seamless experience throughout the month-long celebrations, the district administration and SSKSB have put in place comprehensive security and civic arrangements. Extended greetings were offered to the visiting pilgrims, alongside announcements that a series of cultural and religious events—including Shiv Katha and Bhajan Sandhya—will be organized as part of the festival. Prominent dignitaries including Additional Deputy Commissioner Krishan Lal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Nitin Verma, Assistant Commissioner Development Mukesh Sharma, Tehsildar Pouni, alongside senior civil and police officers and religious leaders, attended the grand opening event.
