Sainik School Nagrota Cadets Honoured on Flight Lieutenant Advitiya Bal Death Anniversary

NAGROTA, July 28, 2026 — Sainik School Nagrota paid tribute to its alumnus Flight Lieutenant Advitiya Bal during a commemorative event organized by his parents and the Nagrota Ex-Students Association at MAM Sports Club in Jammu, marking the fourth anniversary of his sacrifice.

The programme celebrated the life and legacy of the young fighter pilot while recognizing the achievements of Sainik School Nagrota cadets in academics and sports. The cadets were felicitated for their dedication, discipline, and pursuit of excellence.The event was attended by the Principal of Sainik School Nagrota, Captain Shibu Devasia, alongside members of the ex-students association, alumni, parents, and distinguished guests.

Adding a special touch to the occasion, Cadet Mahir Panjoor presented a flute recital, while girl cadets performed a group song, both receiving warm appreciation from the audience.Advitiya Bal joined Sainik School Nagrota in 2007, passed out in 2014, and subsequently entered the National Defence Academy.

Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in 2018, he achieved his dream of becoming a fighter pilot. On July 28, 2022, he lost his life while serving the nation during a MiG-21 trainer aircraft sortie.Speakers remembered him as a courageous officer, an inspiring alumnus, and a role model for young cadets aspiring to join the armed forces.

They encouraged cadets to embody the values of courage, discipline, and selfless service. The gathering concluded with a solemn tribute and a renewed pledge to carry forward his legacy of patriotism.
