Ladakh Chief Secretary Ashish Kundra Inspects Solid Resource Management Facilities Across Leh to Boost Urban Sanitation Operations

LEH, July 28 — Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Ladakh Ashish Kundra conducted a comprehensive field inspection of Solid Resource Management Centres (SRMCs) across Solar Colony, Thiksay, Kharu, and Chuchot Yokma to evaluate operational efficiency, waste processing, and scientific disposal mechanisms.

Directing officials to ensure prompt clearance of accumulated waste and maintain rigorous hygienic conditions at every site, he stressed strict compliance with Solid Waste Management Rules alongside better inter-departmental coordination and regular monitoring. Interacting with local sanitation staff to commend their efforts, Kundra highlighted that effective waste segregation at the source requires sustained public awareness and citizen participation to drive environmental sustainability.

The inspection was attended by senior administrators, including Ladakh Pollution Control Committee Member Secretary Mandeep Mittal, Leh Deputy Commissioner Romil Singh Donk, Special OSD Moses Kunzang, Municipal Committee Executive Officer Stanzin Rabgais, Chucoat BDO Ghulam Mohd, and representatives from LREDA and the Rural Development Department.
