Srinagar Mega Job Fair: Manoj Sinha Urges Youth to Drive India’s Growth Story
SRINAGAR, JULY 28 — Addressing aspiring youth and top industry leaders at the 77th State-Level Mega Job Fair at Amar Singh College, Srinagar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized that young people are not mere job-seekers, but the foundational makers of India’s future. The event, joint-organized by Desh Bhagat University, Cluster University Srinagar, NIELIT, Nations Development Association, and MY Bharat, brought together over 50 prominent companies spanning IT, healthcare, banking, manufacturing, hospitality, and engineering to connect candidates directly with employment opportunities.
Highlighting the bridge between education and enterprise, Sinha noted that platforms like this job fair transform aspirations into actionable paths while instilling immense confidence in the local talent pool. Calling the youth the strength of Skill India, the face of Digital India, and the true bearers of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, he urged students to dream big, embrace lifelong learning, and drive ethical innovation. He stressed that higher education must move beyond classrooms and exams to equip students with practical skills, calling on industry leaders to serve not just as recruiters, but as mentors and partners to close the skill gap.
Outlining a forward-looking strategy for economic growth, Sinha noted that government vacancies alone cannot resolve unemployment. Instead, the focus must shift toward three core priorities: aligning skills with evolving industry demands, expanding private sector job creation via MSMEs, and facilitating smooth transitions from college to the workplace through internships and direct hiring. Citing Jammu and Kashmir’s strong performance in entrepreneurship programs like PMEGP since 2020, Sinha expressed confidence that the Union Territory is carving a dynamic new identity in startups and modern industries. Prominent attendees included Higher Education Commissioner Secretary Ram Niwas Sharma, Cluster University Srinagar Vice Chancellor Mohammad Mobin, Cluster University Jammu Vice Chancellor K.S.
