Amritsar Police Bust Cross-Border Terror Conspiracy, Seize Hand Grenade and Glock Pistol
AMRITSAR, July 15, 2026 — In a major breakthrough, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police has successfully busted a cross-border terror conspiracy with the arrest of one accused. Following the apprehension, law enforcement officials recovered one hand grenade and one 9mm Glock pistol along with four live cartridges.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused was actively communicating with Pakistan-based ISI handlers through Instagram. These handlers were allegedly directing the operative to target police establishments and crowded public spaces in an effort to disrupt peace and public order in the region.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the Police Station Cantonment in Amritsar. A comprehensive investigation is currently underway as authorities work to uncover the wider network and identify the associates and handlers involved. The Punjab Police remains strongly committed to dismantling cross-border terror networks and safeguarding public safety.
