Assam Rifles launches joint counter insurgency operation in Manipur

UKHRUL, July 15, 2026 :- Assam Rifles, in seamless coordination with the Indian Army, Border Security Force, and Manipur Police, executed a massive joint search and sanitization operation in the TM Kasom area of Ukhrul District in Manipur on July 14.

This multi-pronged offensive was launched during the early morning hours as part of a persistent strategy to fortify the security apparatus and intensify counter-insurgency operations in the region.

The security forces initiated the coordinated crackdown to sanitize the area following a recent ambush by anti-national elements in the Nungshang area near Shangshak on National Highway-202.
