J&K Government Appoints 318 Masters as Incharge Headmasters to Boost School Education
SRINAGAR, JULY 11 — In a major move to strengthen the academic and administrative framework of government schools, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has promoted and posted 318 Masters from the School Education Department as in-charge Headmasters across the region. This significant initiative aims to ensure effective school leadership, address critical administrative vacancies, and elevate the overall quality of education in government-run institutions across the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir.
Minister for Education, Social Welfare, Health, and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, hailed the development as a landmark decision that reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to improving educational standards and ensuring better academic outcomes for students. Emphasizing that strong institutional leadership is pivotal for refining teaching-learning processes, fostering accountability, and creating a conducive learning environment, she expressed confidence that these new appointments would significantly fortify school administration at the grassroots level.
Reiterating the administration’s broader vision under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Minister stated that the government remains dedicated to upgrading educational institutions by securing adequate human resources, upgrading infrastructure, and driving progressive reforms. She highlighted ongoing measures to modernise the school education system, close existing institutional gaps, and offer students a vibrant academic environment. Additionally, she noted that the recent recruitment and posting of 595 Lecturers across various Higher Secondary schools has already provided a major boost to the region’s educational landscape.
