ADDC Baramulla Concludes Gulmarg Tour to Review Infrastructure and HADP Projects

BARAMULLA, JULY 11 — Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, concluded a comprehensive two-day tour of the Gulmarg Sub-Division today to evaluate ongoing infrastructure initiatives, government welfare schemes, and key developmental works. Accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gulmarg, Jaliel Ahmed Mir, alongside the Tangmarg Tehsildar, Block Development Officer (BDO), municipal executive officers, and representatives from the agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, and tourism departments, the ADDC conducted field inspections to ensure projects remain on track.

During the visit, the inspection team evaluated the Apiculture Unit and Trout Farm set up under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in Tangmarg. After reviewing the operational status and infrastructure of these facilities, the ADDC held discussions with departmental officers regarding production targets, local beneficiary engagement, and future expansion strategies. Emphasizing the economic potential of the initiative, the ADDC directed officials to accelerate public outreach and streamline execution so local farmers, beekeepers, and entrepreneurs can fully leverage the benefits of HADP.

The tour also prioritized cultural preservation, with visits to major heritage and religious landmarks including the Ziarat of Baba Reshi, Drung Temple Ruins (Pandava Temple), St. Mary’s Church, and Maharani Temple in Gulmarg. While assessing preservation and maintenance efforts at these sites, the ADDC highlighted the importance of safeguarding the historical heritage of the district while simultaneously upgrading visitor amenities and ensuring structural upkeep. Concluding the tour, the ADDC pressed executing agencies and line departments to maintain strict quality standards and accelerate project timelines, urging seamless inter-departmental coordination and rigorous field monitoring to resolve local bottlenecks effectively.
