High Court Jammu Complex Gets New Dedicated Advocates’ Clerks Room to Boost Legal Infrastructure
JAMMU, July 10, 2026 — In a major effort to upgrade infrastructural facilities at the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Kumar today inaugurated a newly created Advocates’ Clerks Room at the High Court Complex in Janipur, Jammu. The new facility recognizes the immense dedication and crucial operational support that advocates’ clerks provide daily to the legal fraternity. The landmark inaugural event was attended by several prominent judges, including Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Mohd. Akram Chowdhary, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, and Justice Sanjay Parihar.
A distinguished gathering of legal officials and bar representatives marked the ceremony. Key attendees included M.K. Sharma, Registrar General of the High Court of J&K and Ladakh (who also holds the additional charge of Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice), alongside other Registry officers. The event also saw participation from Nirmal Kotwal, President of the J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, senior Bar members, and Mohinder Singh Nag, President of the Advocates’ Clerk Association, J&K High Court, who attended alongside his office bearers.
During the occasion, Justice Sanjeev Kumar expressed great satisfaction with the exclusive facility and highlighted the growing importance of digital literacy for clerks, particularly due to their active involvement in the e-filing of petitions. To support this transition, he issued directives to formulate a comprehensive training module covering all aspects of modern court proceedings. Expressing deep gratitude on behalf of the fraternity, Association President Mohinder Singh Nag thanked the Chief Justice, companion Judges, and the Bar Association President for fulfilling their long-pending demand for a dedicated workspace.
