Indian Army Repatriates POJK Resident Apprehended Along Line of Control in Uri
URI, JULY 04, 2026 — The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps on Saturday repatriated a resident of Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) who had been apprehended after crossing the Line of Control (LoC) earlier this year. The individual, identified as Zeeshan Mir, son of Lal Mir, was formally handed over to Pakistan Army officials at the Kaman Aman Setu in the Uri Sector at 12:24 PM IST.
Mir had been taken into custody by Indian troops on May 31, 2026, after inadvertently crossing the border. Official sources emphasized that throughout his time in Indian custody, Mir was treated with the utmost dignity, compassion, and care, underscoring the Indian Army’s strict adherence to professional conduct and humanitarian values.
