Indian Army Peacekeepers Awarded UN Medals for Exemplary Service in DRC
NEW DELHI ,July 04, 2026 — In a significant recognition of India’s ongoing commitment to global peace, 651 Indian Army peacekeepers were awarded the prestigious United Nations Medal during a ceremonial parade at the Permanent Operating Base Sake in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) on July 3, 2026.
The ceremony was attended by senior MONUSCO officials, Force Headquarters representatives, and military leaders who gathered to honor the battalion’s exceptional professionalism and operational excellence under the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
