Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 starts as first batch flags off from Jammu
Jammu, July 2, 2026 :- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of over 4,800 devotees for the annual Shri Amarnath pilgrimage from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu today. The pilgrims departed for the holy cave shrine in a convoy of 259 vehicles.
Sinha extended his best wishes to the yatris for a safe, comfortable, and spiritually fulfilling journey, describing the pilgrimage as a sacred path where devotion meets spiritual awakening.
Extensive arrangements have been put in place by the Jammu and Kashmir administration, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, security forces, and local stakeholders to ensure a smooth journey for devotees from across the country and abroad. Prominent spiritual leaders, senior officials, and citizens attended the flagging-off ceremony.
