Indian Coast Guard rescues six fishermen off Mangaluru coast

MANGALURU, June 30, 2026:- The Indian Coast Guard ship Sachet successfully rescued six crew members from a distressed fishing boat during a swift search and rescue operation off the Mangaluru coast.

The emergency unfolded on June 29, 2026, when the Indian fishing boat Manju Matha suffered severe hull damage and began flooding while navigating through rough seas.

The rescue team utilized remote-operated lifebuoys to safely retrieve all survivors from the water despite the challenging weather conditions.

Following the successful operation, the rescued individuals are being transported to New Mangalore, where they will receive medical assistance and necessary aid before being handed over to local authorities.
