Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh launches Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation drive in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, June 28, 2026 :- Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh inaugurated the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme at the AAM Sub Centre in Jhakhani today, alongside Chief Medical Officer Anil Manhas.

The launch marks the official beginning of a focused, district-wide immunization campaign designed to ensure that every single eligible child across the region receives the Oral Polio Vaccine.

During the launch event, the Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized the critical importance of universal immunization in effectively safeguarding young children against preventable debilitating diseases. He strongly urged parents and caregivers throughout the district to participate actively in the ongoing health campaign by ensuring their children are brought to the designated vaccination booths.

Chief Medical Officer Anil Manhas noted that the eventual success of the entire health program relies heavily on sustained community participation as well as the tireless efforts of healthcare professionals and frontline workers. He made a direct appeal to the general public to cooperate fully with the visiting vaccination teams during the multi-day drive so that no eligible child is missed.
