Jammu Inspector General Bhim Sen Tuti reviews security and police preparedness in Poonch

POONCH, June 28, 2026 :- The Inspector General of Police for the Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, conducted a comprehensive visit to the Poonch district to review the prevailing security scenario and assess the operational readiness of the police force in the strategically significant border area.

Accompanied by the Deputy Inspector General for the Rajouri-Poonch Range, Sandeep Wazir, the Inspector General inspected the Mendhar police station to evaluate administrative management, infrastructure, record maintenance, and public service delivery while emphasizing the need for transparency and swift redressal of public grievances.

During a subsequent high-level security review meeting with senior district officers and field functionaries, the police leadership conducted an in-depth assessment of counter-terrorism operations, border security management, intelligence collection, and inter-agency coordination.

Bhim Sen Tuti instructed all personnel to remain highly alert and proactive, urging them to intensify intelligence-led operations and enhance surveillance in vulnerable areas to counter any attempts by anti-national elements to disrupt peace and normalcy.

The Inspector General also reviewed operational deployments along the border and interacted with members of the Special Operations Group, commending their courage and professionalism under challenging conditions.

In his address to the force, he reiterated that while the police must maintain a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorists, criminals, and drug traffickers, they must simultaneously uphold a community-friendly approach to foster greater public trust and strengthen police-public partnerships.
