JAMMU June 28,2026 — Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports, Science and Technology, and ARI and Trainings Satish Sharma laid the foundation stone for a series of developmental works in Block Maira Mandrian, Akhnoor, today to strengthen public infrastructure and improve grassroots service delivery.
The primary project launched was the upgradation and construction of the Godhan–Tuppa road under the NABARD RIDF-XXXI framework for 2025-26, which is designed to boost rural road connectivity, ease the movement of goods and commuters, and enhance access to essential services for local residents.
Following the ceremony, the minister led a public grievance redressal meeting at Godhan alongside senior district and sectoral officers to ensure on-the-spot solutions to issues raised by the community.
Addressing the gathering, Satish Sharma stated that the government remains fully committed to creating robust public infrastructure, including roads, utilities, healthcare, education, and digital networks, to drive inclusive and sustainable regional development. He emphasized that people-centric governance requires continuous, direct engagement with citizens to understand local priorities and deliver time-bound solutions at the doorsteps of the public.
The minister instructed the attending departmental officers to remain accessible to residents, resolve genuine grievances promptly, and maintain strict quality standards while completing projects within fixed timelines.
During the session, local delegations submitted demands regarding drinking water, electricity, civic amenities, and healthcare, which the minister assured would be evaluated on a priority basis and resolved systematically.
