Security forces stage mock grenade attack drill in Anantnag for yatra safety

ANANTNAG June 28,2026 — Police in Anantnag conducted a comprehensive security mock drill simulating a grenade attack scenario at Grend Aishmuqam as part of preparedness for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The exercise aimed to evaluate the preparedness, emergency response, and operational coordination of security agencies during the annual pilgrimage.

The simulated drill included immediate area sanitization, civilian evacuation, casualty management, traffic regulation, and the cordoning and searching of the affected location.Personnel from the Police, Central Reserve Police Force, State Disaster Response Force, Fire and Emergency Services, and the Health Department actively participated in the exercise to demonstrate inter-agency coordination and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Security officials stated that these mock drills are an integral part of the regional security strategy to enhance field preparedness, ensure an effective response to any contingency, and maintain a safe and peaceful environment for all pilgrims and the general public throughout the yatra.
