Ganderbal Police Seize Large Quantity of Illegally Hoarded LPG Cylinders

GANDERBAL, JUNE 4 — Ganderbal Police conducted a targeted search operation at Nunner Takia today following reliable information regarding the illegal hoarding and suspected black marketing of LPG cylinders.

During the operation, authorities recovered a large number of domestic and commercial gas cylinders belonging to various companies from the premises of Javid Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Nunner Takia. The cylinders were found stored without any valid authorization or license, posing a serious risk to public safety and standing in direct violation of legal provisions.

The recovered cylinders were seized on the spot in the presence of officials from the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department according to standard legal procedures.

Following the seizure, a case has been registered at the Ganderbal Police Station under Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act and Section 287 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is currently underway.

Police officials reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against illegal activities that endanger public safety or disrupt the supply of essential commodities, urging citizens to report any such unlawful practices to the nearest police station.
