Kashmir IGP Reviews Amarnath Yatra Security and Logistics at Baltal Base Camp

SRINAGAR, JUNE 4 — Inspector General of Police Kashmir VK Birdi visited the Baltal Base Camp today to review the security and logistical arrangements being established for the upcoming Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026.
Accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Pandey and Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Sudhanshu Dhama, the regional police chief inspected the facilities set up for the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Armed Police Forces personnel deployed for pilgrimage duties.
The senior officers assessed the readiness of the security infrastructure, accommodation availability, communication setups, and other essential arrangements across the base camp.
During the inspection, the Kashmir police chief emphasized the critical importance of seamless coordination among all stakeholders to ensure a safe, secure, and hassle-free pilgrimage for the devotees.
Clear directions were issued to the concerned officers to maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness and to guarantee the timely completion of all infrastructure works well before the formal commencement of the annual pilgrimage.
Authorities reiterated that the Ganderbal Police remains fully committed to providing a secure environment and facilitating the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage season.
