Air India reduces domestic flight frequencies due to high fuel prices

NEW DELHI, May 27, 2026 — Air India has announced a temporary reduction in flight frequencies across select domestic routes between June and August 2026.

The airline attributed the operational adjustments to the sustained impact of high fuel prices on its overall operations. This development follows previously announced modifications to the carrier’s international network for the same summer period.

Air India stated that it will closely monitor market demand and operating conditions with the intention of restoring normal flight frequencies as soon as the economic situation stabilizes.

To mitigate passenger inconvenience, the airline confirmed that affected travelers will receive proactive assistance.

Passengers impacted by the schedule changes will be offered alternative flight re-accommodation, complimentary date modifications, or full ticket refunds where applicable.
