Udhampur Police arrests two drug peddlers and recovers heroin in separate anti narcotics operations

UDHAMPUR, May 26, 2026 — In a sustained drive against narcotics trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Udhampur Police arrested two drug peddlers and registered two separate cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

In the first operation, a police patrolling party near the Railway Station Roun Domail intercepted a suspicious individual who attempted to evade the personnel. Upon apprehending and searching the suspect, identified as Raman Kumar, a resident of Omalla in Udhampur, police team recovered 3.09 grams of heroin from his possession, leading to the registration of an official case at the Udhampur Police Station.

In a concurrent anti-drug operation, the Udhampur Police Station registered another case following the arrest of Chetan Dogra, a resident of Saillan Talab in Udhampur.

During a targeted frisking exercise conducted by the local law enforcement team, officers recovered 2.49 grams of heroin from his possession. Both individuals were taken into custody immediately, and the illicit substances were seized under statutory provisions.

The local police department has initiated a deeper investigation into both cases to trace the origin of the seized contraband and identify any connected links in the regional drug supply network.
