Major General Manish Kumar Discusses Agniveer Recruitment With Uttarakhand Governor

DEHRADUN, May 14, 2026 — Manish Kumar, the Additional Director General of the Zonal Recruitment Office for Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, met with Uttarakhand Governor Gurmit Singh at Lok Bhawan today to discuss regional recruitment operations.

The meeting centered on the core mandate and tasks of the Recruiting Zone, with a specific focus on the latest systemic improvements designed to streamline the induction of youth under the Agniveer scheme.

During the briefing, the Major General highlighted the structural framework of the zone, noting its significant role as the largest contributor of Agniveers to the Indian Army.Governor Gurmit Singh praised the various initiatives and extensive outreach programs currently being implemented to motivate young people to pursue careers in the armed forces.
