Piyush Goyal Meets Chilean Foreign Minister to Advance Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Negotiations

NEW DELHI, MAY 12, 2026:- Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal hosted a high-level breakfast meeting today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chile, Francisco Pérez Mackenna, to strengthen bilateral ties.

During the discussions, which included members of the Chilean delegation, both leaders reviewed the ongoing progress of the India-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement negotiations.

The meeting focused on identifying new avenues to deepen trade relations, increase mutual investments, and enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations.India continues to place high value on its longstanding and warm relationship with Chile, viewing it as a key partner in the Latin American region. Minister Goyal emphasized India’s firm commitment to expanding economic engagement and fostering stronger people-to-people ties to ensure shared growth and prosperity.

By working toward a more robust economic framework, both countries aim to create a more resilient trade environment that benefits their respective industries and citizens.
