ANTF Jammu Arrests Long-Time Absconder in Delhi; Major Breakthrough in NDPS Narcotics Case

JAMMU, March 26, 2026 — In a major cross-border operation, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of Jammu has successfully apprehended a high-profile drug trafficking suspect who had been evading capture for three years.

The accused, identified as Mohd Shakir, a resident of Daryaganj, New Delhi, was traced and arrested from his home district following a relentless pursuit by law enforcement. Shakir was a wanted figure in connection with FIR No. 03/2023, registered under several stringent sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the ANTF Police Station in Jammu.

The successful arrest was the result of a coordinated effort involving advanced technical surveillance and localized ground intelligence, which allowed the ANTF to pinpoint the suspect’s location in the Sachdeva Lane area of Delhi. Authorities noted that this apprehension is a critical step in dismantling the “backward linkages” of narcotics networks that supply illicit substances across state lines.

By bringing an absconder of three years to justice, the ANTF reaffirms its commitment to a “zero-tolerance” policy against drug peddling.

Further investigations are currently underway to identify additional members of the network and uncover the full scale of the illicit operation.
