JALANDHAR, February 10, 2026 – The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Jalandhar Zonal Office, has successfully restituted six immovable properties to the State Bank of Patiala and Catholic Syrian Bank following a landmark order by the Special PMLA Court in Mohali.
These properties, originally attached under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, are linked to the high-profile fraud case involving M/s Nature Heights Infra Limited and its director, Neeraj Thatai (alias Neeraj Arora).
While the sale deed value of the restituted commercial properties located in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, is recorded at approximately Rs. 20.21 Crore, their current market valuation is estimated to be a staggering Rs. 50 Crore. The enforcement action stems from an investigation triggered by multiple FIRs filed by the Punjab Police against Thatai and his company for allegedly defrauding a vast number of innocent investors.
According to the ED, Thatai orchestrated a scheme where he collected funds from the public on the pretext of property allotment. Instead of delivering land or issuing refunds, the investigation revealed that the investor money was siphoned into various bank accounts and utilized to purchase assets in the names of group companies or for Thatai’s personal expenses.
To date, the ED has provisionally attached assets totaling approximately Rs. 46.02 Crore, including bank balances and agricultural/commercial land across Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Neeraj Thatai, who was arrested by the agency on October 8, 2024, remains in judicial custody.
With prosecution complaints already filed in 2020 and 2024, the ED has indicated that further investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the money laundering network.
