SECUNDERABAD, Feb 10, 2026 — An 18-member high-level officer delegation from the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), Hyderabad, led by Director Shri Amit Garg, IPS, visited the College of Defence Management (CDM) today.
The visit was designed to foster inter-service cooperation and facilitate a deeper exchange of strategic expertise between the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Indian Armed Forces, focusing on the complexities of modern national security.
During the visit, the delegation was briefed at the Heritage Hall on the illustrious legacy of the CDM and its pivotal role in imparting Professional Military Education. The briefing highlighted the College’s contribution to shaping national security discourse and its specialized curriculum designed to empower future leaders.
A key focus of the session was the use of advanced management tools and strategic insights necessary to navigate the increasingly complex VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) and BANI (Brittle, Anxious, Non-linear, and Incomprehensible) global environments.
The engagement featured a highly technical session on Wargaming, where the police officers explored the conduct of strategic exercises, the exploitation of the Cognitive Domain, and the importance of Red Teaming in identifying security vulnerabilities.
This professional interaction reaffirmed the shared commitment of both the Armed Forces and the IPS toward continued mutual learning. By bridging the gap between military management and civil policing, the visit underscored a unified approach to addressing contemporary security challenges and enhancing integrated response capabilities.
