KATHUA, Feb 10, 2026 — A sense of gloom descended upon the Hiranagar area of Kathua district on Tuesday following the mysterious death of a 26-year-old Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
The deceased, identified by authorities as Prabhu Nath, was found in a critical state before being rushed to the hospital. While the exact cause of death remains unknown, local officials have confirmed that a high-level probe has been initiated to uncover the circumstances leading to the young soldier’s passing.
According to official reports, Prabhu Nath was first transported to the Government Hospital in Ghagwal for emergency treatment. Given his deteriorating condition, he was subsequently referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Kathua.
However, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, doctors at the facility declared him “brought dead” upon arrival. The body has been kept for post-mortem examination to determine the clinical cause of death.
The Police have officially taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case to begin a formal inquiry. Investigators are currently looking into all possible angles, including health complications or accidental factors, to provide clarity on the tragedy.
“An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of death, and we are awaiting the forensic reports,” an official stated. The untimely demise of the young jawan has sparked concern, and further details are expected as the legal proceedings move forward.
