JAMMU — February 09, 2026:-In a major leap toward digital governance, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo today launched the newly developed official website of the Jammu and Kashmir Department of Culture.
The portal, accessible at https://culture.jk.gov.in, is designed to serve as a comprehensive digital window for citizens, artists, and researchers to explore the Union Territory’s rich heritage. Launched in the presence of top officials from the IT and Culture departments, the website aligns with the “Digital J&K” initiative, aiming to provide transparent and user-friendly access to cultural resources and departmental services.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that the platform leverages modern technology not only to promote the region’s diverse legacy but also to enhance citizen engagement through streamlined service delivery.One of the most anticipated features of the new portal is the upcoming online booking system for department-owned auditoriums and halls.
Principal Secretary of Culture, Brij Mohan Sharma, noted that this facility will allow the public to check real-time availability and submit booking requests digitally, replacing traditional manual processes with a transparent and efficient system. Beyond administrative functions, the website hosts extensive digital galleries featuring high-resolution images of archaeological artifacts, traditional jewelry, and terracotta objects.
These galleries provide a virtual tour of Jammu and Kashmir’s tangible and intangible assets, including monuments, festivals, and legendary performances that define the region’s cultural identity.The portal also functions as a vital repository for official documentation, offering detailed sections on departmental profiles, legislative frameworks, and ongoing projects.
Users can stay updated with real-time notifications, circulars, and event calendars directly through the site. By centralizing these resources, the Department of Culture has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding and documenting the cultural legacy of Jammu and Kashmir.
