PULWAMA, January 26, 2026 – District Pulwama celebrated the 77th Republic Day today with immense pride and patriotic fervor, centered around a grand ceremony at the District Police Lines.
The National Flag was unfurled by the Chief Guest, DDC Chairman Bari Indrabi, who was accompanied by SSP Tanushree for the ceremonial inspection of the parade. The event was attended by District Development Commissioner Basharat Qayoom, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohd Ashraf Sheikh, and high-ranking officials from the Army, CRPF, and civil administration, alongside a large gathering of students and local citizens.
The ceremonial march past, commanded by Waseem Ahmad Khan, featured disciplined contingents from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, JKAP, IRP, Home Guards, and Women Police, as well as enthusiastic groups of school children. In his keynote address, Bari Indrabi extended warm greetings to the public, emphasizing the enduring values of the Indian Constitution and highlighting the district’s recent developmental milestones. He paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the Police, CAPFs, and Armed Forces, honoring their supreme sacrifice in the defense of the nation.
The festivities were further enlivened by a series of vibrant cultural performances, including traditional Kashmiri Rouff, patriotic songs, and folk dances, which drew widespread applause from the audience. The celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony where the civil administration awarded appreciation certificates and prizes to the best-performing parade contingents and officials for their exceptional public service.
Similar flag-hoisting ceremonies were held across all police establishments in the district, where officers reaffirmed their dedication to national service.
