Punjab Police Busters BKI Terror Module in Hoshiarpur; 2.5 kg RDX IED Recovered Ahead of Republic Day
HOSHIARPUR, Jan 23, 2026 — In a major breakthrough against Pakistan’s ISI-backed terror networks, the Hoshiarpur Police, in a joint operation with Counter Intelligence Jalandhar, has dismantled a terror module belonging to the banned outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).
During the high-stakes operation, security forces arrested four operatives identified as Diljot Singh Saini, Harman (alias Harry), Ajay (alias Mehra), and Arshdeep Singh (alias Arsh Kandola). Authorities recovered a sophisticated Improvised Explosive Device (IED) containing 2.5 kg of RDX, along with two pistols and live cartridges.
Preliminary investigations conducted by the Punjab Police reveal that the module was being orchestrated by USA-based BKI handlers.
The recovered explosives were specifically intended for a targeted terror attack designed to disrupt the upcoming Republic Day celebrations and disturb the communal harmony of the state. This proactive strike by the police has effectively neutralized a significant threat to public safety during the high-alert period.
An FIR has been formally registered at the Garhshankar Police Station in Hoshiarpur under the stringent sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosive Substances Act.
The Punjab Police has reaffirmed its steadfast resolve to dismantle transnational organized crime and ISI-sponsored networks to ensure lasting peace and security in Punjab. Further investigations are currently underway to trace the broader links of this module.
