NEW DELHI | January 17, 2026 Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 at Delhi Cantt today, praising the cadets for a high-spirited presentation that showcased India’s cultural diversity and the organization’s core values of “unity and discipline.” During his visit, the Defence Secretary highlighted the NCC’s seven-decade legacy in nurturing young minds with discipline and national pride. He specifically lauded the cadets’ vital contributions to nation-building, including their courageous civil defence duties during Operation Sindoor and their active involvement in environmental initiatives like the Yamuna Cleanup Campaign. He also recognized their humanitarian efforts, citing their recent relief work during the Wayanad floods in Kerala and their consistent participation in blood donation drives.
Beyond social service, the Defence Secretary commended the cadets for their excellence in competitive sports—specifically shooting, hockey, and equestrian events—and their engagement in high-intensity adventure activities such as mountaineering and parachuting. He emphasized that these pursuits are essential for building fitness and perseverance in India’s youth. While touring the facility, Rajesh Kumar Singh inspected the “Flag Area,” where cadets displayed social awareness themes, and visited the “Hall of Fame” to review the historical milestones of the NCC. He also reviewed technical demonstrations of static and functional ship and aero modelling, noting the cadets’ impressive creative and technical skills.
Concluding his visit, the Defence Secretary described the cadets as the architects of Viksit Bharat. He noted that the integrity and leadership skills instilled by the NCC serve as lifelong assets, shaping individuals who can lead with justice and clarity. He urged the gathered youth to remain committed to national ideals and to approach their future roles with humility, curiosity, and courage.
