JPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdown Across Jammu Districts for January 11
JAMMU | January 10, 2026:-The Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) has announced scheduled power outages for various districts on January 11 to facilitate essential maintenance and repair work.
According to the Chief Engineer (Distribution), several areas including Reasi, Pouni, Dharmari, and parts of Katra will experience a power cut from 9 am to 1 pm.
To minimize the impact on essential services, the JPDCL has clarified that the 33kV Katra and Tarakote feeders will receive an alternate supply via the Jhajjar Kotli Grid station during this period.In other regions, residents should prepare for longer interruptions.
The power supply to Batote, Patnitop, Assar, and Chanderkote is scheduled to be suspended from 9 am to 2 pm. Simultaneously, the Superintending Engineer (Distribution) for the Kathua O&M Circle has notified that Jakhbar, Sherpur, and the Government Polytechnic College areas will also face a shutdown from 9 am to 2 pm.
The longest disruption is expected in the border and industrial belts, including Channi, Marheen, Paharpur, Rajbagh, Chanwan, Haria Chak, Nanan, and Barnoti, where electricity will remain affected from 10 am to 5 pm.
The JPDCL has advised consumers in these sectors to plan their activities accordingly and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by these necessary technical upgrades.
