Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan Inaugurates NCC Republic Day Camp 2026 in Delhi

NEW DELHI, JANUARY 05, 2026 – Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan officially opened the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026 at Delhi Cantt today, hailing the assembled youth as the “face of New India”.

The month-long camp features 2,406 cadets, including a significant representation of 898 girl cadets, drawn from 17 Directorates across the country. Upon his arrival, the Vice President was honored with a “Guard of Honour” by cadets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings, followed by a band performance by girl cadets from Guwahati.

The event serves as a platform for various competitions, including small arms firing and cultural programs, all leading up to the prestigious Prime Minister’s Rally scheduled for January 28, 2026.

During his address, C.P. Radhakrishnan emphasized that the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the foundation of Viksit Bharat@2047 rely heavily on the discipline and patriotism nurtured within the NCC’s 78-year legacy. He specifically lauded the cadets for their adventurous spirit, noting the successful 2025 Mount Everest summit by ten cadets, and praised their selfless service during crises.

Highlighting their role as “NCC warriors,” the Vice President commended their voluntary efforts during Operation Sindoor, the Wayanad floods, and environmental initiatives like the Puneet Sagar Abhiyaan.

The ceremony concluded with a vibrant cultural showcase, as the Vice President extended his best wishes to the cadets for their participation in the upcoming Republic Day festivities.
