Jammu Police Seize Narcotics and Weapon in Satwari; One Arrested During South Zone Patrol
JAMMU, JANUARY 04, 2026: In a significant success for the ongoing anti-drug campaign in the South Zone, the Jammu Police intercepted a major consignment of pharmaceutical drugs and a weapon in the Satwari area today.
During a routine patrol conducted under the supervision of SP South and SDPO South, a police team from Satwari Police Station apprehended a suspicious individual at Dashmesh Nagar Park near MBS College.
The suspect, identified as Sanjay Mishra, a resident of Jawahar Nagar, Narwal Pain, was found to be in possession of a large quantity of restricted medical substances and a lethal weapon.A detailed search of the suspect led to the recovery of 975 Alprazolam tablets and 264 capsules containing a combination of Dicyclomine, Tramadol HCL, and Acetaminophen.
In addition to the narcotics, police seized a sharp-edged “toka” (weapon) and cash amounting to ₹2,630. Following the recovery, Police Station Satwari registered FIR No. 06/2026 under the relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and the Arms Act.
The investigation has been handed over to PSI Ajaz Ahmed Shah to determine the origin of the contraband and the logistics of the intended supply chain.The Jammu Police have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating drug abuse and violent crime from the region.
Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and continue sharing information regarding drug trafficking or any illegal activities with the nearest police establishment to help maintain a safe and crime-free society.
