Deputy CM and Health Minister Inaugurate Blood Donation Camp and Advanced Diagnostic Facility in Jammu

JAMMU, JANUARY 04, 2026: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary and Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakeena Itoo today jointly inaugurated a specialized blood donation camp for children with Thalassemia and a new full-body profile testing facility at National Hospital in Karan Bagh.

During the event, the Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the health sector in Jammu and Kashmir has seen substantial progress under the current administration, driven by pro-people policies aimed at bridging existing gaps in medical services.

He noted that while infrastructure and sanitation in hospitals have improved, the government remains focused on addressing critical challenges such as filling vacant medical posts and further strengthening healthcare delivery systems, particularly within the Jammu region.

Minister Sakeena Itoo highlighted the life-saving impact of voluntary blood donation, describing it as a powerful act of humanity essential for surgeries and chronic illness management. She praised the National Hospital administration for launching comprehensive diagnostic testing at nominal rates, noting that such affordable initiatives are vital for public welfare.

The Minister further detailed the government’s recent achievements under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s leadership, including the installation of advanced medical equipment like Cath Labs, MRI facilities, and CT scanners in Government Medical Colleges and District Hospitals across the Union Territory.

Concluding the event, both leaders extended their heartfelt Gurupurab greetings to the public, reaffirming their commitment to providing advanced, accessible healthcare near the doorsteps of every citizen.
