SAMBA 31 December :- Security forces have been placed on high alert following the sighting of a suspected drone near the International Border in the Phulpur area of Samba district on Tuesday evening.

According to official sources, the drone was observed hovering over the strategic border belt for several minutes before disappearing, raising concerns about potential cross-border surveillance or the dropping of illicit payloads.

Immediately after the detection, local security agencies were notified, leading to an intensified surveillance posture across the sensitive frontier.In response to the aerial intrusion, a comprehensive search operation was launched early Wednesday morning to scan the rugged terrain for any suspicious dropped items, such as weapons or narcotics.

Security personnel are currently investigating the drone’s flight path to determine its origin and destination points. While no recoveries have been reported so far, the area remains under a strict security cordon as forces utilize advanced technology to monitor the airspace.
